Starting with the academic year 2013-2014 all students who wish to work in education must certify their Pedagogical Adequacy. The issue of Pedagogical Adequacy is really important and the Department has made several arrangements in its curriculum in order to assure that students get proper pedagogical training. This is achieved by offering a set of education-related courses relevant to all Specializations, such as:
Pedagogical Adequacy is obligatory only for students who wish to work in education in Greece.
In order to obtain Pedagogical Adequacy, students have to successfully complete 8 courses, as shown in the table below. Some of these are Core or Specialization Course requirements, and others are just mandatory for the Pedagogical Adequacy. Finally, there is a number of Electives from the Department of Music Studies and the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology, which students can register for to accumulate the 8 required courses.

The Curriculum of the Department of Music Studies already contains several such Courses. Students can also register for additional courses from other Departments of the School of Philosophy.
