Paris Perysinakis was born in Athens and grew up in Agios Nikolaos, Crete. At the age of eight, he started lessons on the Cretan lyre with the great Kostas Mountakis, while at the same time he began to play the mandolin, lute and guitar. He has also studied higher theory at the National Conservatory of Athens.
As a soloist he has participated in more than three hundred albums of the Greek discography, has collaborated with important Greek orchestras (Camerata - Orchestra of Friends of Music, Orchestra of the National Opera Orchestra, Orchestra of Contemporary Music of ERT) and has performed in major cultural venues in Greece and abroad.
He is a graduate of the School of Humanity Studies of the Hellenic Open University in the specialization "Studies in Greek Culture" (2023) and is professionally involved with the Cretan lyre, mandolin, lute and guitar.
He has taught for six years at the Music High School of Ilion and for nine years at the Department of Folk & Traditional Music of Technological Educational Institute of Arta. Today, she teaches at the National Conservatory of Ilioupolis and teaches in the Postgraduate Programme of Ethnomusicology & Music Practice at the Department of Music Studies of the University of Athens.
