Stella Nikolaidi was born in Larissa, where she began her music and oboe studies. She completed her first cycle of studies at the Department of Music Science and Art at the University of Macedonia and the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki. In 2008, she continued her musical education in Germany with a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). She studied at the Cologne Academy under Prof. Christian Schneider and at the Detmold Academy under Prof. Jozsef Kiss, receiving her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in oboe with distinction. From 2014, she continued her studies at the Academy in Essen, specializing in Baroque oboe under Prof. Michael Niesemann.
During her time in Germany, she worked with the symphony orchestras Bergische Symphoniker and Bochumer Symphoniker. She also collaborated with internationally renowned ensembles, such as the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne (Cologne Opera), Niederrheinische Sinfoniker, and the contemporary music ensemble Ensemble Musikfabrik.
As a soloist, she has performed with the Athens State Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra of Athens, and the Camerata. In Greece, she has worked with the Camerata, the Philharmonia Orchestra of Athens, and from 2016 to 2019, she served as principal oboist with the National Symphony Orchestra of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT). Since May 2019, she has held the position of second principal oboe with the Athens State Orchestra.
Regarding her teaching experience, she has worked in Germany at the Musikschule Lippstadt, and in Greece at the Municipal Conservatories of Heraklion (Crete) and Patras.
